Dr Sandra Manuel Named Among 10 Most Influential Researchers

The African Report named Dr Sandra Mauel a social anthropologist from the University of Eduardo Mondlane (UEM) in Mozambique, as one of 10 most influential researchers in Africa.

Dr Manuel’s work focuses on the social analysis of the body, gender, and sexuality, as well as health, disease, and treatment. She’s currently a co-editor of Feminist Africa, an African-based open-access gender studies journal and community anchored in transformational feminist change.

She is a researcher at Kaleidoscopio, a Maputo-based autonomous research institute that focuses on public policy and culture. 

She was a co-editor of the academic journal Anthropology Southern Africa, and is currently a co-editor of Feminist Africa, an African-based open-access gender studies journal and community anchored in transformational feminist change.
